An elongated ovoid ceramic vase with delicate and very pretty paintings of autumn leaves near a pagoda and bridge. A light weight ceramic vase with an all over fine cream-colored crackle glaze that has been over painted with iron red, blue, pink, brown and dark green enamels. Gold has been used to accent and define. The design on the front is of a Japanese landscape with mountains in the distance.There are fall colored branches framing the painting of a pagoda complex and bridge. Although generally well painted, some of the leaves have color outside the lines. There are matching gilt bands at the rim of the mouth and just above the foot. There are matching black and gold bands on the shoulder and above the shallow, cut, unglazed foot. The base is glazed with an mark that roughly translates as Nice Mountain. The number 11 is also marked on the bottom of the foot. The vase has a smooth oxidized age feeling.
Its probably from the 50's and about 60 years old. 7 1/8 (18.1 cm) tall x 3 ¾ (9.5 cm) diameter. Weighs 12.0 oz (340 g). There are no cracks, chips, or breaks.
